HBC Anzac Day
At dawn this morning, members of Coastguard Hibiscus stood shoulder to shoulder with our community at the Hibiscus Coast RSA to mark Anzac Day. As the first light broke, we paused to remember the courage, sacrifice, and service ofthose who have served our country—past and present. The stillness of the morning was a powerful reminder of why we gather each year: to honour their legacy and reflect on the freedoms we enjoy today. For our crew, service is at the heart of what we d

Lifejackets made the difference between a search and a recovery
Two kayakers were safely rescued from the water off Stanmore Bay on Saturday, with lifejackets and having a phone to call for help making all the difference. The pair became separated from their group in deteriorating conditions as they paddled from Martins Bay to Manly Beach on Saturday morning. Thankfully they were able to make a brief phone call to the group and give their approximate location. Coastguard Hibiscus volunteers aboard Hibiscus Rescue 2 and the New Zealand Pol

A Call We Never Forget: Why Lifejackets Must Be Worn

Coastguard Hibiscus – February Update
February has been full of activity for our Coastguard Hibiscus crew, both on and off the water. A quick stop into the store on the way to the vessel meant our crew were met with a little Valentine’s Day delight before heading out on the water. It was a small gesture to recognise the huge amount of time, energy, and heart

A Busy Start to the Year on the Water!
What a start to 2026! Over the festive season, our incredible volunteer crew put in between 30 and 60 hours each on our vessels from 20 December to 10 January, with additional time spent on call when needed. In fact, there were only three days during that period when we weren’t out on the water! Across those weeks, we responded to 16 calls for assistance and helped at least 40 people return safely to shore. A huge thank you to every volunteer who gave their time and energy to
